Computational Facilities
The Laboratory for Parallel and Intelligent Systems
maintains the following network of workstations:
- three Sun Blade 100s
- one Sun Ultra 5 / 270 MHz
- one HP 735 / 99 MHz
- one Dual Pentium III 450 MHz
- one Dual Pentium II 400 MHz
- one Pentium II 266 MHz
- one Pentium 200 MHz
- one Pentium IV 1.6 GHz
- (Shared ownership of) eight Dual Pentium III 650s interconnected via a Myrinet switch
- one Lexmark colour inkjet
- one Lexmark Optra printer
In addition to some departmental access, we also have access to the IBM SP2 with its high-performance switch at the University of Victoria, and to the SGI Origin2000 at the University of Alberta.
Our lab has available the following major software packages:
- FrameMaker 5.5.3
- Matlab 6.1 and a variety of toolboxes
- MPICH 1.1 (ANL/MSU MPI implementation)
- Microsoft Office 2000
